Great read! I <3 MacOS desktops!
Also, I did not know you could make the backspace faster. I spend a lot of time in the terminal. I will be looking into this!
Thanks you! 🙏
Thanks Phillip! The backspace hack is such a life-saver. Once you set that up, you'll never go back.
Great tips, Chris! I only rarely use multiple desktops. I feel like I'd have to force myself to get into that workflow for consistently. I've seen other Mac users utilize that feature heavily and it looks great, but for whatever reason, I just never use it.
Hey Braydon. Yeah it's super useful, I generally have 1 Visual Studio Code on the right just full screen it's one easy swipe away from the rest.
Most of you know me for my consistency, a golden arrow in my blog series. I've written 1000 articles in 1008 days! Almost an article a day, and my honeymoon was the only holiday I ever took. I'm super proud of this achievement; it has been a fantasti...

It's not the first time I'll be talking about community. I think it's an essential aspect of any successful tool. This shows in my previous explorations of Astro, Medusa, and now Vendure as well. All these products thrive in a super open, welcoming, ...

The cool part about Vendure is how easy it is to set up and how abstract each layer is. Basically, we get the following elements: External database Server Worker Admin UI Frontend While this is amazing, it also brings a bit of complexity when it co...

The previous article looked at customizing Vendure on a data and process level. In this article, we'll look at customizing emails, as they are often a big part of a webshop system. We'll be looking at two different layers of customization for customi...

Even though Vendure is a pretty significant project out of the box, in some cases, we might want to go in and modify some elements to work to our specific use case. In this article, I'll take a high-level look at some elements we can customize within...

This article aims to show you how to be more productive on your Mac without having to install any specific software or extensions.
This is all possible with the power of your Mac already!
Nowadays, we get tools like Alfred that are a superpower version of Mac's native spotlight.
The spotlight is super easy to invoke: CMD + space, and it literally has a lot of powerful features.

This is literally one of the first things I do when getting a new Mac. Install hot corners to quickly show your desktop or all application windows.
Here you can see my setup:

You can find the Hot corner setup by opening settings > Desktop & Screen Saver > Screen Saver > Hot Corners (bottom right)
As for the settings per corner, you can choose from the following:
Another useful feature is that you can open multiple desktops. You can have multiple apps per dock or use full-screen apps in each dock.
This is super useful to have a full code editor in one, swipe to the left for your browser, etc.
You can enter multiple desktops by typing Ctrl +Up` or opening Mission Control.
On the top, you will now see the option to add or click on specific desktops.
Once you have multiple, you can swipe between them!

Another simple yet powerful option is to have your download folder as a Fan display based on last added!
This allows you to quickly see which files were added last, and I use it all the time.
Right-click the Downloads folder in your dock, or drag it there if it doesn't exist yet.
Set the "View content as" to "Fan" and "Sort by" to "Date added". It's as simple as that but makes such a difference.

If you ever used a terminal or code editor, you need this hack! Set the backspace to be faster.
Nothing is more annoying than a backspace action that will only do 1 letter at a time. (Which is the default behavior)
Open Settings > Keyboard and set the following:
This will make your backspace way quicker!
